Endorsement Letters:

Gary Libey endorsement letter:

"I have publicly endorsed Roger Sandberg as the next Whitman County Superior Court Judge. People have asked me why I endorse him. The answer is very obvious, it is because Roger is the most qualified candidate for this very important judicial position.

"I know from being the Whitman County Superior Judge for the last 8 years that Roger has the common sense, experience and temperament to be an excellent Judge.

"The Superior Court Judge hears mostly serious [felony] and family law cases, but also decides significant cases such as the recent Pac-12 case. This job requires patience, diligence and dedication for the goal of justice, no matter who the parties are.

"This job also requires diversity of knowledge as no two cases are ever the same.

"Finally this job requires cooperation and coordination with other counties which exchange judges with our Court here.

"Cleary, and without doubt, Roger Sandberg will provide those qualities as the next Whitman County Superior Court Judge."

-Gary Libey, current Whitman County Superior Court Judge

Dave Frazier endorsement letter:

"I strongly recommend Roger Sandberg for Superior Court Judge. Roger appeared in my courtroom on countless occasions when I was Superior Court Judge in a diverse variety of cases.  He always impressed me, whether he won or lost, not only with his intelligence and legal ability, but also with his professionalism, honesty, and commitment to the highest of ethical standards.

"Roger Sandberg is humble and compassionate.  He understands and takes very seriously the effect that a Judge’s decisions have on the everyday lives of the individual litigants and businesses that come before the court.  He is dedicated to hearing cases fairly and impartially and in making decisions based on the facts and law without any agenda or bias.

"Roger is the only candidate for Superior Court that has extensive experience in all the types of cases that commonly come before this court. He also has innovative ideas for streamlining procedures, reducing backlog, and minimizing court delay. When elected Judge, he will come to this position full of energy, highly experienced, and importantly, with the right demeanor and temperament for the job."

-David Frazier, Whitman County Superior Court Judge (2001-2017)

Brooke Burns endorsement letter:

"I strongly recommend Roger Sandberg for Superior Court Judge.

"I began practicing law in Oct. 2006, just one year before Roger. I had civil cases against Roger and used Roger as a mediator in civil cases. Roger was, and continues to be, very knowledgeable in civil law and is an excellent mediator. He is reasonable, fair and has the demeanor to handle the toughest of cases. While in private practice, I also reached out to Roger when I had difficult questions or issues arising in criminal cases, knowing he did a lot more criminal law than I did.

"I became a Superior Court Judge in Jan. 2021, in Asotin, Garfield, and Columbia Counties. Roger appears in my courtroom frequently. While he practices mostly in Whitman County, he agreed to take some conflict cases in Asotin County, as well as cases where local attorneys were not qualified, e.g. Class A felonies. Roger is a very highly qualified and skilled criminal attorney. Roger is the consummate professional. He is honest, with the highest of ethical standards.

"Roger has acted as a Court Commissioner in Whitman County and at one point, I had asked him if he was willing to act as a Court Commissioner in Asotin County. Roger understands and takes very seriously the effect that a Judge’s decisions have on the everyday lives of litigants.  Roger approaches cases rationally, with an earnest desire to come to a sound legal resolution based on the facts and law without any agenda or bias.

"Roger is the only candidate for Superior Court that has extensive experience in all the types of cases that commonly come before the court."

-Brooke Burns, Judge for Asotin, Garfield and Columbia counties, 2021-present

Denis Tracy endorsement letter:

"Roger Sandberg is on the ballot this year for Whitman County Superior Court Judge. I urge your readers to join in voting for Sandberg for judge.

"As the county’s prosecuting attorney, I have worked with many judges, here and in other parts of the state; and I am convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that Mr. Sandberg deserves your vote.

"Roger Sandberg has the knowledge, the broad experience, the common sense, and the plain good judgment that our next judge needs to have. Please vote Sandberg for judge."

-Denis Tracy, current Whitman County Prosecuting Attorney

Rob Rembert endorsement letter:

"In selecting a Whitman County Superior Court Judge in the upcoming election, the community will shape Whitman County’s judicial system for years to come.  Having litigated cases in the area for nearly 28 years, I join most of the local legal community and elected officials in endorsing Roger Sandberg for Whitman County Superior Court Judge.

"Roger Sandberg has the work ethic, legal ability, and temperament to allow him to be an outstanding judge.  Given Roger’s qualifications, it is no coincidence that he is endorsed by a vast majority of the local legal community who know and can best evaluate each of the candidates, including sitting and retired Whitman and Asotin County Superior Court Judges, the Whitman County Prosecutor and the Whitman County Sheriff.

"Whoever you support in the upcoming election, please vote.  I encourage you, however, to vote for Roger Sandberg for Whitman County Superior Court Judge."

-Rob Rembert, longtime Pullman attorney
